Hello!
Just a few things from me before the holiday weekend!
1. Your child brought home a pink page with all the story words from the past 6 stories we've read in our Reading Book. Please review these words with your child. They are the same words as the words on the blue cards that go home every Tuesday. The students need to know how to read the words only. They do not need to memorize them or know how to spell them. Practice reading them in different ways, not just down the list. When I have them read the words to me, I will be going in a different order than listed, so make sure they know them. This is a report card grade!
3. Since next week is our testing week for our reading series, there will be no spelling words to learn. We will also not be reading a new story since we will be testing the students on the skills they learned with this reading book. There's nothing they need to study besides their story words on the pink page. Everything will start back up again on Monday 10/15!
2. Please continue to send in the bats for the "Batty Reader" incentive program! Our bulletin board is looking excellent! Also remember, only one bat per day, even if more books were read. Also, if you're reading a chapter book, they can fill out a bat for how ever many pages of the book they read that night!
I hope you all have a fantastic 3 day weekend! See you back at school on Tuesday!
Ms. Petrucci
