Good afternoon! Happy last week of school before winter break!
First and foremost I would like to say a big thank you to all of the parents who so graciously donated supplies to our party. I really appreciate all of you and your generosity!
Another thing I would like to briefly address is the horrible tragedy that happened this past Friday in Connecticut. I can't even begin to imagine how that community is coping with such a horrific situation. This was not an issue I brought up with the children, but some of them did ask what would happen if a bad guy came into our school, so I did answer some of their questions. We did not go into detail, but I did go over our lockdown procedure and I let them know that my number one job every day as their teacher is to make sure they are safe. If they come home and have any more questions, and you are unsure how to answer them, feel free to send me an email and I can try to help.
On a lighter note, we have some fun activities coming up this week. The students will be reading the book and watching the movie of "The Polar Express" on Thursday and Friday afternoon before the party. Please keep this a surprise! Our holiday party is also scheduled for this Friday afternoon from 1:45-2:45. Please plan on attending only if you have signed up for this event!
We are finishing up on Topic 7 unit in Math this week, so please make sure to complete the study guide and go over skip counting. Our lesson today covered using a table to find and organize number patterns. Our quiz is scheduled for tomorrow and we will take the test on Thursday.
That's all for now! Have a great week!
:) Ms. Petrucci
