We had quite an exciting day today celebrating the 100th day of school! We counted to 100 by tens, fives, twos and ones! We also reached $1.00 on our money chart! It was so much fun trading in the coins to make a $1 bill. We also spelled our ten spelling words ten different times in ten different ways to spell 100 words! It was A LOT of work!
For journal today, we brainstormed what it would be like if we were 100 years old! We thought about what we would do, wear and even say when we turn 100! We also made a list of seven things we would buy if we had $100! We came up with some pretty good ideas!
In math, we worked with partners to play a dice graphing game. We took turns rolling a die and recording the number on a graph. We rolled the die 100 times (50 times each) and then counted to see which number we rolled the most and which number we rolled the least!
It was also great to see all the different 100's collections the students brought into school today. We had everything from coffee beans to Pokemon cards to a house made out of 100 Twizzlers! The students were able to share some information about what they brought and select two students to ask questions about their collection.
We also had our informance rehearsal today! The students are getting ready to put on a great show for you on Friday afternoon! Our performance is from 1:30-2:00 pm in the gym. I hope you can make it!
Remember... our Math quiz is tomorrow, so please make sure your child is ready for it! Also, keep practicing math facts and spelling words at home! Pretty soon we are going to be adding one more day of Reading comprehension homework in addition to the one day of math and one day of reading homework we already do. This will go home every Monday and the students will have until Friday to complete it. This will start next week and there will be a note going home explaining it.
Thank you so much! Keep bringing in those marshmallows this week! Thursday's the last day of the January program!
Have a great day :)
