No Math Homework

Hi all!

Just an FYI, there is no math homework tonight.  There will be some sent home on Thursday when we start our next unit.  Please make sure to study with your child tonight.  We will be reviewing the quiz tomorrow in class.  You can review:
  • greater than, less than, equal to
  • 10 more, 10 less
  • 1 more, 1 less
  • putting numbers in order from least to greatest and greatest to least
  • counting on a 100s chart
  • number riddles (ex: I am greater than 10, but less than 30.  You say my name when I count by 2's.  Which number am I? 8, 22, 15, 34)  Give them choices so they are able to use the clues to figure out the correct number.  They REALLY like doing this!  We had a lot of fun during this lesson.
Our spelling words are getting a lot more challenging now.  I've decided to set up a little incentive to get the students motivated to get a 10/10 on this week's spelling test.  If the students are able to get a 10/10 on this week's words (not the bonus words), I told them I would let them pick something they wanted me to do.  It could be silly (like wearing my hair silly all day or wearing my shirt backwards for the day) or a class reward (like the whole class eating lunch together in the classroom).  I will grade their tests during lunch on Friday and if they all reach the goal, they will vote on the silly thing they want me to do.  They seemed really excited about it, so keep practicing those words at home so they can see me do something silly ;)

Also- January Book Orders are due on Friday the 18th!  If you'd like to order books, please send in the money or order online by then so I can submit the order!

Thanks so much!  Have a great day!
